Who are we and how do we help?
The Friends of Holy Cross Church Durley is an association of people who share a common belief that we have a duty to our descendants to hand our lovely 12th century parish church in good condition to future generations. The members are not necessarily religious, many seldom come to regular church services. However many gain great strength from the knowledge that the church and its peaceful churchyard (a place of quiet contemplation) is here and available for weddings, christenings and funerals and other services and regard it as an essential part of our heritage. For generations it has been the focal point of our village activity in Durley. It would be regretful for it to fall into disrepair so that future generations could not benefit from the wonderful building and all its history.
from membership fees and fundraising activities, The Friends raise money to maintain the fabric of our beautiful church.
You can help by joining the Friends for just £5pp per year.
